In Praise Of … Kate Somerville’s Peptide K8 Power Cream
I never like to dictate what people should or shouldn’t do when it comes to skincare - it is your face after all however I would advise that if you are buying skin care products make sure you’re getting it from a brand that actually knows what they are doing. I mean do you really have time for products that exist simply to take up space? No, I didn't think so. And so one of the things I love about Kate Somerville products is that the founder, (and yes her name is Kate Sommerville - she’s a much lauded clinical facialist popular with the A List set ) doesn’t create products for the sake of it. Everything is intentional. She has had so many years of experience working with all skin types with varying skin issues that not only does she have an impressive understanding around the intricacies of skin care, what is required for skin to function at optimal levels and what ingredients actually work, she also understands what people want from their skin care. Which is where this high performance ceramide and peptide infused moisturiser comes in. Now it does say anti ageing and yes it does target fine lines and wrinkles but for me the main USP is that this cream is an excellent moisturiser. That sounds really basic but honestly this is an area so many brands fall down on and the one skincare product everyone wants is a moisturiser that actually works. And this absolutely does - particularly on dry , dehydrated and mature skin types. It improves the texture and suppleness of skin, it is clinically proven to reduce redness - making it also brilliant for sensitised skin - it adapts really well with other skin care products - which means no pilling thank goodness because that is a nuisance - and what I love best about it is that it has an advanced moisture complex that prevents water loss, keeps skin balanced and significantly improves skin’s hydration within a month. Which is the one thing that immediately improves the look and feel of skin. So there you have it, an incredible moisturiser from a brand that actually understands skin.
